And sucks Yin had to be sidelined like that when they retooled the show (after getting the all clear from WB to get Gordon in on the series).Bull moose on the other hand are quite quiet. Also the rapport Batman had with the Detectives was great. Despite it being one line and the title of the IP lmao.Įdit2: And yea Robert Englund's RIddler was amazing, I do still miss the VA from B:TAS (so gd playful and sinsiter) but Englund did a damn fine job and should definitely be allowed to reprise the role (even if it isn't the same version of the character) should Englund ever feel up for it. Probably because it's a bit of a sinister sounding take on the 60's theme. It's just very at home in Batman stuff, the vibe of that line. That "the Batman" line is everything, even Cillian Murphy goes for something similar during his dialogue in Batman Begins. I do love the 1st intro just a little bit more though. And made for an awesome companion/sibling series to the DCAU portrayal.Įdit: And I do like the second theme as well, but definitely rolled my eyes at the explanation given for it, mostly because I cynically felt it was a pivot by WB marketing. And it deserves praise for that hat trick considering the character and source material. But this show made this part of his life feel more real, by not being AS somber as other portrayals of this time period of his life, tend to be. As a character he inevitably ends up at the endpoint we all know and love from most depictions. It really sold he was trying something new while still following his life's mission. was nice to see Bruce learning the ropes to this while still having the capacity to be a bit playful. And it was neat to see some DCAU VAs in cameos for certain roles.Ĭlick to shrink.1000x this. They did good work putting a spin on these characters. I actually really enjoyed the VAs as well. Again outside of internal WB maneuverings. It was different to what I was used to but even back then my younger self knew this was gonna be other people's Batman show and I was more than fine with that. Didn't follow it super closely either but whenever I saw an episode on I'd always give it a shot. The show itself was quality, but WBs decisions and how they affected other projects turned me off from it for a good part of Season 1. At least that's what it looked like from the outside looking in. I imagine this was more due to Batman Begins and WB stupidly thought only "one" cartoon could use them but two of them would be "too confusing". Big same, Also the only disdain I had for this show was that WB acted like imbeciles (its a Warner tradition I imagine) and limited the DCAU being able to use villains from Batman's Rogues Gallery. ![]()
